WHY DO I HAVE TO WRAP/SEAL THE POTATOES ON THE PLATE WHEN MICROWAVING THEM?

That keeps the moisture in the potato so the finished potato salad won't come out too dry.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PREPARE THE SALAD?

From the time you pick up the potatoes to put them in the Microwave, it takes about 15-20 minutes of work to prepare the Salad. Most of that time is spent just waiting on the potatoes to cool down.

HOW SPICY IS THE POTATO SALAD?

Our KITS comes in spicy or mild. 

Everybody is different when it comes to what’s spicy.

If our spicy or mild isn’t spicy enough for you, add white pepper. 

If you don’t like it spicy get our mild version.

ONCE PREPARED HOW LONG WILL THE SALAD LAST?

Health dept standards are: Eat prepared salads up to 5 days after they are made.

DO I HAVE TO USE RUSSET POTATOES?

We developed the recipes using russets. For maximum flavor, we use Russets.

What kind of MAYONNAISE do I have to use?

We use a good quality Mayonnaise for maximum flavor.

CAN I BOIL THE POTATOES INSTEAD OF MICROWAVING THEM?

Recipe was made for "Quick&easy"microwaving potatoes, but you can boil them. But use about 1/3 less mayo than the recipe calls for. If it looks OK-fine. If it needs more mayo -simply add more mayo.

CAN I USE LESS THAN THE PACKAGED AMOUNTS OF VEGETABLES OR SPICES?

No.

CAN I EAT THE SALAD IMMEDIATELY AFTER MAKING IT?

You can, but for maximum flavor, you want to chill it for at least 2 hours before eating.

CAN I MAKE THE SALAD WITH THE MICROWAVED POTATOES STILL HOT/WARM?

For Safety reasons, most Board of Health's don’t advise making potato salad with hot/warm potatoes.
